Luna's Story

Luna is a very scared mixed breed who is still learning that the world can be kind. Right now, everything feels a little overwhelming for her, but behind those cautious eyes is a gentle soul who wants to feel safe and loved.

Luna will need a patient, understanding home—one that will let her move at her own pace and celebrate the small victories. She may not be the dog who runs up for attention right away, but with consistency, quiet reassurance, and time, Luna has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal and loving companion. Luna is tolerant of other dogs, but is not very interested in engaging in play with them.

She’s looking for someone with a big heart who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. In the right home, Luna’s fear can turn into confidence, and her story can become one of healing and hope.

If you believe in second chances and have room in your heart for a dog who needs you as much as you need her, Luna is waiting for you.

Volunteer Perspective:
With black spots scattered across her soft white neck and all four paws, Luna looks like she got into the cookies-and-cream ice cream! She was such a frightened newcomer, but has come a long way and grows more confident each day. Luna now seeks out connection, instead of hiding from it. She takes treats with a gentle mouth, but what she really craves is praise and affection. It has been so rewarding to watch her blossom into an affectionate pup who looks forward to walks. She’s well on her way and I’m sure Luna will keep blooming with the right person by her side.
