Luke's Story

Meet Luke! Luke came to CCHS from a local farm earlier in May. Luke isn't very old yet at just 1 year old (estimated date of birth 5/11/25) and he weighs 29.5 #. Luke is a Blue Heeler (or Australian Cattle Dog). He is handsome with his black, white and merle coat that's a little fluffy. He has great perky ears, too. Luke is a friendly but shy guy and is a little overwhelmed at the Shelter due to all the changes he has experienced lately. He isn't too great at walking on a leash and will learn how to do that better. The great thing is that he's a smart boy and is ready to learn lots of new stuff. He will do best in a new family with lots of patience and love who is willing to give him time to learn and adjust. With any dog, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. <br/>CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going.
