Luke's Story

Meet Luke

At just a year and a half old, this Beagle mix has already had more stops than any dog should. Luke found himself at the shelter not once, not twicebut three times. Thankfully, the third time was his turning point, because thats when we were able to bring him to safety.

When a dog is returned over and over, people often assume something must be wrong. After having Luke in my home for over a month, I can confidently saythats not the case. Luke is an incredibly loving, loyal dog... he just needs the right environment and someone who understands him.

At his core, Luke is a velcro dog. He forms a strong bond with his person and is happiest right by your sidewhether thats lounging on the couch or curled up in your lap (and yes, he will invite himself there ). While he enjoys being outside, hes just as quick to come back in and settle down close to his human.

Like many Beagles, Luke is smart, curious, and driven by his nose. He benefits from regular exercise and a secure space to explore. Interestingly, despite the breeds reputation, Luke is fairly quietaside from the occasional howl when he hears sirens.

Luke does have a protective side, especially toward his person. In situations with raised voices or sudden physical movements (like roughhousing), he may react defensively to what he perceives as a threat. Because of this, Luke would do best in a calm home with adults or older, respectful children who understand boundaries.

He also experiences some separation anxiety, specifically when crated indoors during the day. However, he does very well when left in an outdoor kennelremaining calm and relaxed. At night, he sleeps quietly in his crate indoors with no issues.

Luke is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinatedand most importantly, hes ready for a forever home that truly means forever.

He may not be the perfect fit for every household, but for the right person, Luke is an incredibly devoted, affectionate companion with so much love to give.

Send us a message to learn more about meeting and adopting Luke.

Recently the need for more rescues has become very apparent, so I have decided to open again, though on a much smaller scale, and without attachment to any group. We have uncountable stray and unwanted animals all acros...
