Lucy in Texarkana TX

Lucy is a female long hair chihuahua or chihuahua mix. She is around 7-8 years old and she weighs about 13 pounds. Lucy is spayed, teeth cleaned, and vaccinated including rabies. She is heartworm negative. Lucy is ready for adoption.

Lucy is the best girl, a dog that will quickly learn to fit in with a new home and be a joy from the beginning. Lucy was owner surrendered to the rescue a few years ago due to owners health, adopted, quite happy for a few years and then her adoptive mom passed away this summer. Lucy might be shy for 45 seconds around someone new but once you show her some love she is quickly your best buddy. She gets along with other dogs but takes a while to get to know new friends before becoming playmates. She is not pushy about receiving affection, but is always happy to be picked up and carried or cuddled. Lucy walks on a leash like a champ, does not pull or get tangled up in the leash at all. Overall, she would be very easy companion for an elderly person as she is savvy at staying out from under feet, coming when called etc. Lucy should be fine with kids as visitors, but she has lived all her life with older adult humans so she might not be sure about the activity of a home with young children. Lucy recently had her teeth cleaned and lost a few, and also had a skin tumor removed from her chest. She is ready to be someone’s sidekick.

Adoption fee is $300.
