Lucy's Story
Age: 1 Year
Weight: 48lbs.
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Dog Savvy
Good with kids: Yes - Older
Energy Level: Med-High

Available for Adoption: 10/31/26- Applications need to be approved before a meet and greet will be set up for any Fetching Hearts Rescue dogs.

Meet Lucy!

Sweet Lucy is only about a year old, but it’s clear her past hasn’t always been kind to her. The scar near her eye tells us she’s been through something, although we may never know exactly what happened. What we do know is that Lucy deserves nothing but love, kindness, and happy memories from here on out.

Lucy can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her some time to realize everything is okay and her sweet personality quickly starts to shine. And when she decides she likes you? Get ready for her adorable ground crawl as she scoots her way over for some love!

Lucy LOVES playing with her dog friends and can definitely be a rough-and-tumble kind of girl when playtime gets going. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her so she can run, play, and build confidence in a safe space.

With her mostly medium energy level, Lucy is a great mix of playful and sweet. She’d love to join you for walks, adventures, and then spend time relaxing with the people she trusts. Because too much chaos can be overwhelming for her, Lucy would do best in a home with older children who can understand when she needs a little space and time to settle in.

What Lucy needs most is someone gentle and patient who will show her that she is finally safe. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving girl who is ready to give her whole heart.

Lucy’s past may have left a scar, but it doesn’t define her future. Could you be the person who shows her just how wonderful forever can be?

If interested in Lucy, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at: Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com.

Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination.
All routine annual vaccinations, including
Rabies, DHLPP
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Heartworm Test
Fecal Test, Deworming
Microchip
Flea and Tick Prevention
Heartworm Prevention.
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.

HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
