Lucy's Story

Meet Lucy!

Lucy (and her brother Beau) came into the care of HSCC when their guardian was no longer able to care for them. These two beautiful bouncing beagles were extraordinarily loved in their home, and their previous owner made the very difficult decision to rehome them both, knowing that this transition would be the most humane thing for them. Since coming to HSCC, our staff has gotten to know this duo, and showered them with the love and affection they deserve while they wait for adoption.

Lucy is as true a beagle as they come! Walks with her consist of following her wherever her nose leads, allowing you to experience the world as she does - lots of long sniffy walks through fields and forests, and this girl shines! She has a lovely singing voice, and is sure to serenade whoever is in ear-shot. With her people, she is passionately snuggly and affectionate, and is a very sweet and pleasant companion. Compared to Beau, she is definitely the more spunky half of this pairing, and is sure to keep life fun and interesting.

Lucy and Beau have been together their whole lives, and rely on each other for companionship and comfort, so they will be looking to go to an adoptive home as a bonded pair. If you have the room in your home and your heart for the most adorable beagle duo the world has ever seen, look no further than Lucy and Beau!

Spunky, charismatic, and high-energy
Loving and loyal
Cuddly and people-oriented

Dogs: Lucy and Beau are looking to be the only two dogs in their adoptive home, but HSCC staff are open to trying a dog test with an appropriately matched canine.
Cats: Lucy has no known history with cats.
Kids: Lucy has lived with both young and older children and has done well with them.

Ready to adopt your new best friend?
Submit an adoption application today! You'll receive an email with all the next steps. At HSCC, dog adoptions are by appointment, and we'll schedule your counseling session promptly to help you find the pawfect canine companion!

We are also looking for foster placement while awaiting adoption.
