Welcome Lucy<br/><br/>Age: 1 year old (birthday 12/2024)<br/>Breed: Lab/Husky/GSP mix<br/>Weight: about 50 lbs.<br/>Crate-trained & house-trained: yes<br/>Good with: dogs and kids<br/>vetting: spayed, dewormed, HW-, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines<br/><br/>Lucy needs someone who understands the German Shorthaired Pointer breed. She is not a dog for everyone, and although she is only 30% that part of her really shines through. She is looking for a semi-active home where she can let her young energy out. She is a great walking partner and walks well on a leash except when she sees her archnemesis the bunnies. She cannot resist trying to chase a bunny; dogs, birds, and people she does not mind seeing on a walk. She is not the most coordinated girl, if she drops a bone under the couch, its her fosters job to get it and playing fetch is a work in progress for her. In terms of backyard fencing, her previous owner said she would dig under the fence, we have not found that to be a problem with her. She is great with other dogs that do not mind rough housing and takes corrections from other dogs well. Lucy loves her toys from stuffed bears to bones and everything in between. Lucy has lived with young children and would probably be fine with them. She needs to be in her crate when home alone as she still has the tendency to chew on shoes (never furniture though). She never has accidents in her crate and rarely whines in it.
