Lucky (Sponsored Fee) Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & Husky Mix Austin, MN

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lucky came to us as an owner surrender in March 2023. He was very shy when he first came to us so we didn't place him up for adoption right away. His former owners loved him but they never really let him do "normal" dog things. Lucky had never eaten dog food or even eaten out of a dish when he came to us! Our volunteers have worked really hard with him and he's now blossomed into a fun loving dog who loves to play and has learned how to "dog". He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee of $150 is being sponsored by one of our volunteers.

Lucky is looking for a very patient and experienced home. He's still shy with new people but has learned to overcome it a lot faster. He is a mix of two very smart and active breeds, both of which are known for keeping people on their toes. Lucky exemplifies both breeds with his energy level and his sometimes frustrating enjoyment of teasing and pushing the ol' envelope. It's all in good fun for him and you can almost see him laughing. He's a goober who loves to play but will settle in for some snuggling and hugs.

A FENCED YARD is required for Lucky. His leash skills aren't the greatest yet so a fence will help to keep him secure. He does require some basic training in all areas but loves to learn and makes it a fun experience. An adult only home would be best (teens are fine). He LOVES the companionship of other dogs. Cats are most likely a no for him given his breed mix.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, AND spayed or neutered.
