Meet Lucas<br/><br/>Lucas traveled all the way from Texas to find is forever home. While we are not sure what mix of breeds he is (thinking Yorkie, Pomeranian mix) but he is 100 % a good boy. He is a year and half old and 19 pounds.<br/><br/>Lucas is a gentle and affectionate dog with a warm heart and curious spirit. He enjoys slow walks, friendly interaction with people, and cozy evenings at home. With a calm demeanor and love for companionship Lucas is ready to bring joy and loyalty to their forever family.<br/><br/>Lucas is smart and eager to learn. At night he sleeps in his crate and waits quietly to get out and play. He loves to great people with a wagging tail and a few jumps of excitement. He is potty trained and is working on basic commands. He already knows to sit and wait for food.<br/><br/>Lucas loves his 4 year old foster sister and lets her squeeze all the love out of him. He loves playing tug of war and getting belly rubs. Lucas is comfortable and friendly with adult people. While he has not been able to play with a bigger dog he shows interest on walks. He is also very curious to see if squirrels are friends or an enemy.<br/><br/>Lucas would love a forever home for the Holidays!<br/><br/>Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. <br/><br/>In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. <br/><br/>If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application. <br/><br/>Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed. <br/><br/>Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.
