Louis's Story

6 yo old Louis is looking for his forever home.

Louis lost his parents to divorce and now he is at risk of being put down, as the right person is not easy to come by.

As a last desperate cry, his mom wanted to share his story to see if there is a trainer who wants to adopt him and give him the life in which he can thrive.

Louis can go to a home with or without another doggie sibling but he plays rough and therefore it can annoy the other dog. He really is a velcro dog and loves to be around his humans, get petted and please them. But it takes him sometime to trust them. Once he trusts them, he is a loyal and loving pup.

Louis came to rescue three years ago, when our volunteers found him roaming the streets, recently escaping his current home, where he was clearly neglected and abused, he was left outside in the yard. Louis obviously missed many meals, as he was only 50 lb and completely underweight. He is currently 60 lbs and healthy.

Louis is extremely loving and craves for affection. He is fearful of sound, and thunderstorms, and when it's raining, he turns into a lapdog.

He is reactive to sudden movements, therefore we are looking for a home that respects his space. We will need a home without children, as they can startle him. Outside his home, he is fine with any adult or kids.

Adopters must have prior breed experience to adopt Louis,

His current mom is a malinois trainer and knows his triggers. But now with children on the way, she cannot keep him, and would like to find him a really good and loving parent.

He is friendly to confident people, but will bark at nervous energy at first, therefore his adopters must have strong personality.

Louis is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and currently in San Antonio, Texas but can travel to other cities to the right home.

To get approved to meet him via facetime or video chat like zoom and whatsapp, please send an application available at www.savesomesouls.com and his mom will reach out to you.

*** Yards must be fully fenced to adopt our pups. No invisible fences.

Save Some Souls's Adoption Policy
Once a pet is ready for adoption, we place them online. Potential adopters must fill out our application form, which is mandatory before meeting the pup. Once processed, the potential adopters and fosters are connected to share more info about the pup. After the application is approved for meet and greet, the potential adopters coordinate with rescue to meet the pup. For an in person meet, we require a copy of the drivers license to be sent to us for verification. Out of state adopters are able to do a facetime meet with the pup. After the meet, we take notes from our fosters for final decision. If the foster feels the pup and the adopter are a great match, then we move forward with homecheck. Homechecks are in person or via video apps like whatsapp or zoom or facetime, Once all works out, we send our contract and fee invoice, and schedule pick up of the pup, either in person or via transport, if out of state. All our pets are fixed before they are adopted, no exception. If your application is approved for adoption, but it is not appropriate for the pup you applied for, we would offer you the right match or direct you to a more suitable rescue group who may have the right pups for your lifestyle.
