Meet Louie! <br/><br/>Handsome, goofy, affectionate, and always ready for fun — Louie is the kind of dog who makes it very easy to fall in love.<br/><br/>Louie is a handsome 6-year-old, 57-lb male red tri with beautiful copper highlights, a full tail, and LOTS of love to give! Currently fostered in Washington, DC, he’s looking for his forever home with someone who will appreciate his playful personality and give him the exercise, attention, and enrichment he deserves.<br/>Louie is friendly, affectionate, playful, and wonderfully goofy. He loves toys, puzzles, running, walks, and would make a great hiking buddy. Once playtime is over, he’s happy to settle in beside you and show off his favorite role: cuddle bug! Louie is your classic velcro Aussie who just wants to be wherever you are.<br/><br/>He’s also a great housemate — housebroken, crate trained, and well-mannered in the home. He is a little curious when it comes to food on the counter or dinner table, but he listens diligently to an "off" command. He knows some basic commands and aims to please.<br/> <br/>Louie has lived with two dogs and would enjoy a confident, playful canine companion who can keep up with his enthusiastic play style. He could also be happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all the attention! He has been exposed to chickens, outdoor cats, and kids without concern.<br/><br/>Leash skills are still a work in progress, but Louie is getting better every day. He is curious about other dogs on leash, and wants to sniff and say “hi.” With structure, routine, exercise, and enrichment, this smart, energetic boy has so much potential to be an amazing lifelong companion.<br/><br/>Louie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a goofy, loving, active best friend who will make you laugh, join you on adventures, and then happily cuddle up beside you, Louie may be your guy! <br/><br/>Interested in Louie?
