Louie's Story

Meet Louie – Your Future Best Friend 🐾
Louie is a charming Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Bichon mix who will be celebrating his 7th birthday on April 9, 2026—and he’s proving that 7 is just the right age for companionship, love, and a little fun!
Louie came to Prairie Paws Rescue due to circumstances beyond his control when his family moved to a community with pet restrictions. (The town only allows 3 pets per home and they had 4). Now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will cherish him as much as he deserves.
In his foster home, Louie has shown himself to be a very social and affectionate boy. He loves being near his people and thrives on human connection. He’s currently living with other dogs and has been respectful around cats, making him a great fit for a multi-pet home.
Louie does have that soft, curly coat we all adore—which means he will need regular brushing and periodic grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.
One of Louie’s favorite things? Walk time! The moment he sees his harness and leash, his excitement says it all—this boy is ready to hit the pavement and enjoy the outdoors by your side.
Louie currently weighs 34 pounds, and our vet has suggested he shed a few pounds to help him stay healthy and feeling his best. A regular walking routine and mindful treats will go a long way—and Louie is more than happy to be your walking buddy!
Louie would do best in a quieter home where he can soak up lots of attention and love. He’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, gentle presence in their life.
As part of his care, our vet has noted that Louie will need a dental cleaning (and possibly a couple of extractions), which will be completed prior to adoption—so he’ll be all set for his next chapter.
If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion to share your days with, Louie is ready and waiting to meet you.
Could Louie be your new best friend? 💙
