Because he has a true love for the outdoors and Setter-self-exercising, he requires a home with a secure fence at least 6 feet and large enough for him to really stretch out and run. Typical of field ES, he works the fenceline and if there is a weakness or way out, he will find it. Like most ES, his family will need to be mindful about keeping external doors and gates closed securely. If given the chance outside a fence, this boy would run like the wind and likely not come back so he must always be kept on a leash or in a secure fenced yard. Lou would thrive in a relatively quiet household with adults or older pre-teen/teenage children who appreciate his sweet, gentle nature.
