Approximate Weight: 34lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have not seen Paris with cats but she can be tested. Because Lotus is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.

Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter - needs a foster!

Special adoption considerations: Lotus is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Lotus is Looking For: Her forever home! This young girl is eagerly looking forward to her new one. The one where she gets her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her family can dream up. She hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is looking forward to making new pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see what she likes best, quality kibble, and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well. Lotus has been shy since arriving to the shelter and because of this, she is looking for a home with another dog to show her the ropes.
