She will happily curl up in your lap for hours, gazing into your eyes as if you are the only person in the world. She wants to be as close to you as physically possible, soaking up every bit of comfort and connection. Once you earn her trust, you’ll discover a devoted little companion with so much love to give.<br/><br/>Lottie also has a sensitive side. The world can feel overwhelming to her, and when she’s startled, passes people on walks, encounters unfamiliar people, or has someone new enter the home, her fear can come out as intense, sometimes aggressive-sounding barking. Her reactions can be loud and startling, and while she has not shown biting or nipping behavior, her fear responses can be a lot to handle. She needs someone who understands that these reactions come from fear and who is willing to help her feel safer at her own pace.<br/><br/>The good news? Lottie gets along well with her foster dog siblings and her foster cat sibling! She has shown that she can share her world with other four-legged friends, even if the human side of life can sometimes be more challenging for her.<br/>Lottie would benefit from a calm, predictable home with a patient adopter who will respect her boundaries, help her navigate overwhelming situations, and give her the time she needs to build confidence. A home with no children is best for her right now. Someone experienced with fearful or reactive dogs would be a wonderful match.
