Lola keeps showing us more and more of what a special girl she is.<br/><br/>She recently attended our Paws & Companions event at a local senior living community, and she was amazing. With lots of new people, activity, wheelchairs and plenty of hands reaching out to say hello, Lola was gentle, calm and completely engaged. She happily visited with residents and guests and soaked up all the attention. It was wonderful to see how naturally she connected with people.<br/><br/>Lola is a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys being part of whatever is going on around her. Her performance at the event showed us that she can handle a busy environment and lots of new faces beautifully.<br/><br/>Lola is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment through Heart of America Humane Society. Heartworm is treatable, and we don't want her diagnosis to keep the right family from seeing everything she has to offer. Her treatment will be handled with the rescue, and we'll make sure her adopter understands what to expect as she completes it.<br/><br/>And Lola comes with one very fun adoption bonus: her own Embark DNA test! We've all made our guesses about Lola's breed mix, but we're saving the official answer for her forever family.
