Meet the coolest boy in town - LL Cool J! J is a 1 year old neutered Boxer mix.<br/>J is one of those dogs that just immediately captures your hearts. He's never known true comfort, and after spending the first year of his life in a rough situation he was sadly dumped in town. Despite this history, though, J has been so loving and gentle with us. He will need help to fully build his trust, but you can tell he wants to open up - he has just never had the opportunity before.<br/>J does not have a mean bone in his body, and even with him being overwhelmed here he has never shown us any signs of aggression. He is a very timid dog, though, and will need a very patient adopter that can work through his trauma. He has not received any training, and his owner will need to make sure they're not disciplining him too harshly and scaring him worse. We are already seeing major improvement and he is really letting his loving personality shine. With time and work, he will become the most loyal companion you've ever seen!<br/>In his previous home J was kept with multiple other dogs. He does have some marks on him that look like he was getting bullied, and with him being underweight we wonder if the other dogs were fighting with him over food. We introduced him to a dog here and he was very nervous, and didn't want the other dog in his space. He wasn't showing any aggression but we don't think he would currently do well with a dog that is too pushy. With him being on the timid side we recommend he not go to a home with small children, as we don't want to risk them pushing his boundaries. He will also need a home with a secure yard, as we don't want to risk him running off if he gets too spooked.<br/>J is looking for a family that will finally teach him what love is. It can be daunting taking on a dog with special emotional needs, but if you put in the work with J you will see a great reward. This boy is so loving and loyal with those that have shown him they're trustworthy, and he will make a wonderful dog for the right owner.
