You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Little Smokey came to the shelter as an owner surrender. He is a very handsome chihuahua mix who is small but mighty. He can be pretty shy when he meets new people and does take a bit of time to warm up. Once he does, he's happy and affectionate with a tail that goes a mile a minute. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped and his fee is $150.

Smokey is looking for an adult only home (teens are fine). He has done well with other small dogs and we do think he would do okay with cats. He does do okay on leash but a fenced yard would be heaven for him.

NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
