Little Red's Story
7-26-26 Meet Little Red, a vizsla mix, about 2 years old, and a petite 38 lbs. Like a true fairytale protagonist, Little Red has survived more than any young dog should have to endure. She was likely an outdoor dog her whole life until she got picked up by animal control and ended up on the euthanasia list of a high kill shelter. She was saved by a wonderful vet who saw how lovely she is. Shortly after going to a foster home, she went into heat and began to prolapse, which required an emergency spay. When she recovered from surgery, she began treatment for heartworm, which required several months of strict confinement. She only very recently started to learn what it's like to be a pet! In this couple of weeks, she has learned how to sit for a treat and has nearly mastered potty training. She is a sweet, quiet, timid girl who is playful, active, and affectionate once she opens up and feels safe. She loves toys. She gets along with everyone: dogs, cats, humans. She would be better with older, gentle, dog-savvy children, as she is still pretty nervous, and also uses her paws when she plays and can scratch or knock a little kid over. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and has been on heartworm preventative. And she is ready for someone to show her how beautiful life can be with a family that loves her.

Will you be her ever after?

PLEASE EMAIL US FOR AN APPLICATION!!
