Lisa Vanderpup's Story

Little Lisa Vanderpup is just the sweetest senior girl.

She is a 14 year old, 5lb Pomeranian mix. She was turned into the shelter to be euthanized by her former "owners". Luckily, the shelter staff stepped in and alerted us that she needed some help.

Lisa is a very chill, go with the flow girl. She LOVES to be carried around in a sling, enjoys being a part of the action, and coexists beautifully with other pups who respect her space.

Her foster takes her out and about to events, and Lisa just loves it! If you love little seniors and want to give them a luxurious crash pad to live out their days in peace and comfort, Lisa is your go-to gal. She is potty trained (or will pee on pee pads), quiet as a mouse, and looking for her retirement home.

She has been around kids ages 6-10 and has done very well with them. She just loves love.

After doing thorough diagnostics with the vet (multiple rounds of bloodwork, visit with a specialty dermatologist, and an ultrasound), we did find that Lisa has quite a few medical things going on that are age-related, but all very manageable! She is worth it - trust us!

Diagnosis:
1. Chronic hepatobiliary disease - treated with medication
2. Gallbladder disease
3. Enteritis with reduced gastric and intestinal motility - currently being treated with medication, likely temporary
4. Possible chronic pancreatitis - addressed with low fat venison food
5. Chronic kidney disease changes on ultrasound - nothing requiring medication at this time, but should be monitored via bloodwork and ultrasound follow up
6. Chronic dry eye - lifelong management with eye drops

It is recommended that she get follow up bloodwork in 3 months to check her liver, pancreas and kidney levels.

Head to www.pippyspals.com/adopt and fill out our adoption application if you'd like to be considered for her golden era.

*PLEASE NOTE: all of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX, where our rescue is based. However, we work with Southwest airlines on a rescue transport program, so anywhere that Southwest flies, we are able to transport Lisa!

If you're interested in adopting Lisa, please head to www.pippyspals.com/adopt and fill out our adoption application. If our team thinks you could be a good fit, our Adoptions Director will email you to set up a Zoom call, the first step in our consideration process.
