Line Butt (Liney)'s Story
Line Butt (Liney, as we like to call her) has been with BPR since November. She came to us from Tx. She is a perfectly medium sized dog at 1 year old. Currently at 35 pounds. White with brindle markings and is so stinking cute. She spent 7 weeks in a board and train learning many commands. She is super smart. Loves to learn and show off how smart she is, Liney is a highly active dog who wants someone who will play with her every day otherwise she likes to find things to chew on. She is getting better at this each week that goes by. She is a champion walker but walking alone isn't enough for her energy level. Currently walks about 3 miles per day.

Liney sleeps all night in her crate like a champ. She waits quietly in the AM while I make my coffee before I let her out. Mostly she likes being with her people during the day, following us from room to room, but she will occasionally need a forced break in the crate if she's overtired or can't quiet her excitement. She willingly and quietly goes in her crate when I'm going out. Is quietly awaiting my return when I get home and patiently waits for me to let her out.

She is fully potty trained (as long as we don't miss her cues), and knows basic commands like sit, shake, lie down, leave it, and wait. It helps that she is extremely food-motivated and is quite intelligent. Her trainer used sign language for commands. In foster she responds to both gestures and words. She is unusually smart with understanding words. IE she is learning the names of toys and I can ask her to bring named toys to me.

Being outside is one of her favorite things. She loves playing with a flirt pole and tugowar is a favorite. She also loves fetch and frisbee but wants a treat with each return. I use her food.

She loves kids, but can feed off their energy and get puppy jumpy. When kids run she feels her job is to jump on them. We are working on this with the "off" command. She loves all people and always has a minute of excitement meeting new people but then settles. She is a great cuddler while watching TV.

Liney is anxious when seeing other dogs while out walking and becomes quite verbal, mostly if the dog barks at her. She requires a slow introduction with parallel walks prior to actual meeting.

Liney has LOTS of energy and would be a loyal single dog, but would love having another doggy to play with and help her burn off some energy. A fenced-in yard would be even better!

Does Liney sound like she could be a good fit for you?
