Meet Lily

Miss Lily, Chocolate is sweetness on four paws! She’s 3.5 years old and tips the scale at a trim, athletic 68 pounds. Lily has been well loved and cared for since she was a wee pup, but her family’s circumstances changed, and they asked us to find a perfect new forever home for her.

This happy young lady with a perpetually wagging tail is house trained and fine with free roam of the home. She does like to have her crate nearby with the door open as her special napping ‘den.’ Lily loves meeting new people, is a polite greeter and is delighted to show off her sit, down, wait and to come when called. Car rides and tummy rubs are welcome. A front clip type walking harness is best since she wonders why you are so slow! Other dogs give Lily two paws up, and cats are delighted she is indifferent to them.

Besides being with her Peeps, what Lily loves most is playing and retrieving. Other dog pals take note: she’s not into sharing those tennis balls or bones. “Oh, and please let me give you the ball.” she adds. “It’s not polite to grab it out of my mouth.” Lily loves her walks too and a good cuddle any time. And to top it off, she’s an all-around, eager to please best friend too!

More from her foster mom:
“Lily is very sweet and quite mellow. She just wants to be with her person. Lily loves to play fetch and can carry two balls in her mouth. She will raise her head and toss one ball out of her mouth at you without losing the other for you to play fetch with her! The best home for Lily will be one with someone who has lots of time to love and play with her. She is a delight!”

Note: During her thorough vet exam with us, our vet discovered Lily has elbow dysplasia with some arthritis, a condition not uncommon in Labs. While she loves to fetch, play and be active, it should be done in moderation. She takes a readily available daily medication and joint supplement. Her new family may wish to consult with their veterinarian about other options such as physical therapy. There are many exciting new state of the art therapies. We are happy to provide excellent recommendations.
