Lily's Story

Lily is currently in South Korea, but she has a flight volunteer secured to arrive at JFK on March 20th! Even better: if you live further east of JFK, transportation will be provided for the approved applicant.

To be considered for Lily, a complete written adoption application must be submitted first. Once a suitable family is fully matched through our vetting process, she can be on that flight. All approved adopters begin with a two-week trial and monitoring period to ensure a safe, long-term fit.

👉 Apply to Adopt Lily Here: https://forms.gle/3RqaXN6em21CU9UP7

🐾 Lily At A Glance
Age: 1 year old estimated
Sex: Female (spayed)
Weight: ~13 kg (about 28.5 lbs)
Energy Level: 4/5 — Active, athletic, and playful
Adoption Fee: $650 (Includes spay, vaccines, microchip, vet exam, health cert, & airfare)

📸 More Photos & Videos (Google Album): https://photos.app.goo.gl/We5DXauoCyCv3kuh7

📷 Instagram (Managed by foster family): https://www.instagram.com/imbo_hopesishome

🐶 Lily’s Story
Lily was rescued from the Hongseong Shelter just before euthanasia after being found with severe skin disease alongside her three siblings. One brother has already found a forever home in the U.S., her sister Mimi was adopted in Korea, and now it’s Lily’s turn! With treatment and a stable foster home, Lily has made a full recovery and grown into a confident, joyful young dog.

🩺 Health & Diet
Currently very healthy; January bloodwork showed no concerns.
No known allergies (tolerates meats, vegetables, and fruits well).
Current on monthly NexGard Spectra (year-round protection required).
Diet: Acana Free-Run Duck
Favorite treats: freeze-dried chicken, pig ear slices, and sweet potatoes.

🌟 Personality & Social Skills
Lily is a happy, expressive young dog. She is affectionate without being clingy, playful without being chaotic, and confident while still responsive to guidance.

With Women: Warms up quickly (often within 5 mins); easily accepts petting.
With Men: Comfortable overall; may pause briefly around tall men in dark clothing.
With Children: Plays well; best with respectful children who understand dog boundaries.
With Other Dogs: Excellent! Loves doggy daycare and respects boundaries set by other dogs.
With Cats: Curious and alert, but no chasing or aggressive behavior observed.

🏡 Home Life & Behavior
Potty Training: 100% outdoor potty trained (uses a pad only in emergencies).
Alone Time: Mild pacing for ~30 minutes when left alone, then settles nicely. No separation anxiety.
Vocalization: Very little barking; may whine softly for needs or bark back if provoked by an aggressive dog.
Manners: Walks nicely on a leash, releases dropped food easily, and is not destructive with household items when given proper chew toys.
Car Rides: Rides calmly in a crate for 1–3+ hours (initial motion sickness has resolved).
Grooming: Tolerates bathing and tooth brushing well; prefers towel drying over a loud hair dryer.

🎾 Favorite Things
Running and playing with other dogs (especially similar-sized 7–15 kg dogs).
Squeaky balls, plush toys, wood sticks, and safe chews.
Nose-work games and exploring new environments.

🏠 The Ideal Home for Lily
Lily would thrive with:
Active adopters who enjoy daily walks and outdoor time.
A home open to medium-energy, medium-sized dogs.
Adopters who value structure and consistency for a young dog.
Another friendly dog in the home (a plus, but not strictly required).

Lily is not a fit for:
Homes expecting advanced obedience immediately.
Families looking for a low-energy couch potato.

💬 A Final Note from Her Foster:
Lily is social, adaptable, and joyful. She is still young and continuing to mature, but she has a strong foundation and excellent social skills. With consistency and guidance, she will grow into a confident, well-balanced companion.
