Lilac's Story

Lilac has such a heartbreaking backstory. She was dumped, actually shoved out of a car, and the driver sped off. As she desperately chased after the vehicle, she was clipped by another car, but thankfully she did not sustain any injuries. A woman witnessed the entire incident, and her neighbor even caught it on camera, though unfortunately the tag number couldn't be identified.

The woman who saw everything happen immediately took Lilac in, but with four dogs already and being a renter, her landlord said no more pets were allowed. She was given just one week to find placement for Lilac.

At the very last minute, one of our fosters saw a plea for help on Facebook while another rescue was trying to network for placement. Without hesitation, she stepped in and picked Lilac up on the very day she was supposed to be out.

Right now, Lilac is decompressing and settling in at her foster home, something she so clearly deserves after everything she's been through. She still needs to complete her vetting, and once that's done she will officially be available for adoption. She is already listed on our site, and we are currently accepting pre adopt apps!

What we know about Lilac so far:

People friendly

Dog friendly

Young, estimated around a year old

Appears to be a super mutt! Maybe Lab/border collie/corgi/beagle mix, but that's just our best guess. She's quite the low rider and weighs around 40 lbs.
