Lil Debbie's Story
Date Written: May 2025
Updated: May 2026
Breed: pitty mix
Age: 3 years, born April 2023
Weight: 42lbs

Hi, I am Lil Debbie!

This social butterfly loves meeting new people. She is playful, sweet, and outgoing. She is house broken, crate trained, and knows sit, stay, and down! Her foster says she is the absolute easiest foster! She loves to hangout with you, whether its on a walk or on the couch. She's curious and a little clumsy. She's also very quiet and hardly ever barks- such a polite girl! She is even just happy hanging on her own, playing with her toys, enjoying the simple things in life!

Her absolute favorite things are snuggling, squeaky toys, treats, walks, and car rides! Her favorite color is orange- really!! She loves orange blankets and really fluffy orange toys!

Lil Debbie is moderate energy level, but is down for a nap or a walk as long as she is with you, she is happy. Her favorite is a short walk and then a long nap! She is an adorable little girl- I mean just look at that smile!! Before coming to B&B, Lil Debbie had a sad beginning. Her owner became homeless and was no longer able to care for her (despite loving her very, very much). He turned her into a shelter, thinking this was what was best. However, the shelter in his area is a kill shelter and frequently euthanized for space. Lil Debbie found herself facing euthanasia for no reason, other than the fact that she hadn't had any adoption interest and the shelter needed to make room for new intakes. Thankfully, her foster said yes! And Lil Debbie came into our rescue!

Lil Debbie is a little clumsy, hits her massive head on things. She is solar powered and loves sunbathing! She's a very quiet girl, hardly ever barks, and would do well in an apartment. She adores kids, can have an independent streak and lay on her own, loves car rides, and will hangout with you to get coffee on the weekend. She can sleep anywhere- soft blankets, dog beds, and crates! Her favorite time is dinner time! She doesn't love rain or getting her paws wet but tolerates baths. She isn't really a chewer, she prefers soft and squeaky toys. Did we mention she can totally rock a hoodie or sweater?

With the right dog and proper introductions, she has done well with other dogs, but is dog-selective. She prefers calm dogs that will let her engage at her own pace. In general, she walks well on a leash and doesn't pull, but is leash-reactive so will need ongoing training to manage that energy. She would do best with an experienced owner or a place where she can take walks without a lot of unpredictable situations.

Are you the perfect home for Deborah?? Do you want a snuggled up cinnamon roll to wake up to on Sunday Mornings?

Lil Debbie is like Elle Woods- a girly pop with a signature color. Just looking for a nap time buddy that doesn't mind a little cute snoring. Her superpower? Squeaker Extraction- no squeaker is safe! Her theme song would be Baby by Justin Bieber. She truly cant wait to share fluffy blankets with you and keep your spot on the couch warm always.

She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, monthly preventatives, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of her care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dogs age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Lil Debbie, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.

Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.

Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
