Meet Liberty (Bertie)<br/><br/>Liberty has already survived more in his first nine months than most dogs experience in a lifetime.<br/><br/>Born on the streets of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Liberty and his brothers depended entirely on their devoted mother, Glory, to keep them alive. Sadly, two of his littermates were struck and killed by cars before help could reach them.<br/><br/>Liberty, his brother Justice, and their mom were scheduled to be part of a sterilize and release program, where street dogs are vaccinated, sterilized, and returned to life on the streets. Thankfully, our compassionate rescue partner knew this little family deserved so much more.<br/><br/>Glory was rescued first, but Liberty and Justice had to remain on the streets, facing danger every day until it was finally their turn to be rescued. Today, they're safe in New Hampshire, and Liberty is ready to leave his difficult beginning behind forever.<br/><br/>At just 9 months old and 22 pounds, Liberty (affectionately called Bertie by his foster family) is a happy, playful puppy with his whole future ahead of him.
