Liberty's Story

Meet Liberty!

Some dogs dream of being fierce protectors. Liberty dreams of being your full-time personal assistant...whether you asked for one or not.

At approximately one year old, this beautiful Great Dane mix is equal parts gentle giant, loyal sidekick, and oversized goofball. If you're looking for a dog who believes that personal space is simply a suggestion, congratulations! Liberty has been preparing for this role her entire life.

Wherever her favorite person goes, Liberty isn't far behind. Folding laundry? She's supervising. Cooking dinner? She's quality control. Watching TV? She's convinced there's always room for one more... even if she's approximately the size of a small horse.

When she's not shadowing her humans, Liberty loves romping around with her canine friends. She's playful, social, and always ready for the next adventure, whether that's chasing toys around the yard or making new doggy pals.

For such a silly girl, she's also impressively smart. Liberty already knows her basic commands, is housebroken, and crate trained... although she'd like it officially noted that she'd much rather be out spending time with her people. She's still working on one tiny detail: learning that throw blankets and decorative bookshelf treasures are home décor and not exciting new enrichment toys. She's trying her best... mostly.

Because Liberty is still growing into those wonderfully long legs and hasn't quite realized just how big she is, she'd do best in a home with older children. She adores people, but her enthusiastic greetings occasionally come with a little extra horsepower!

Spayed
Vaccinated
Microchipped
Heartworm NEG -
Flea & parasite free
UTD on prevention

If you've been searching for a best friend who's equal parts comedian, cuddle bug, adventure buddy, and loyal shadow, Liberty just might be your perfect match.

After all, life is a little brighter, a little funnier, and a whole lot sweeter with a gentle giant by your side.

NOTE: We do not respond to PetFinder inquiries, you must submit an application. Approved applications are required in order to schedule a meet and greet.

We do adopt out of state, however you must be willing to travel to us to meet your new pet.

To apply: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TBDF/Dog

Two Black Dogs Foundation's Adoption Policy
All adopters MUST fill out an application. We do not respond to inquiries submitted through PetFinder. If you have questions about a specific animal feel free to email us, or send us a message on Facebook. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. If you are approved to adopt a member of our team will contact you. Meet and greets are set up by appointment only after you’ve been approved. In most cases you are allowed to take your new pet home after your meet and greet, unless the animal is too young to be spayed/neutered, in which case you will sign up to foster-to-adopt. We do not hold animals so please do not apply or set up a meet and greet unless you are ready to leave with your new pet. Any vetting done at your own vet clinic will be at your own expense. Spay/neuter included in adoption fee must be done by one of our local partner vet clinics, and adopter is responsible for arranging transportation. All animals adopted through TBDF are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and parasite free and up to date on their preventions. All cats and kittens are FiV/FeLV tested, all dogs over 6 months of age are heartworm tested and treated if positive.
