NOTE TO APPLICANTS: Lexie's adopter is required to already have a resident dog due to her shy nature.

At just 8 months old, Lexie may be small in stature at 15 lbs, but her personality is larger than life -- once she is comfortable with you, of course. With her short, pristine white coat, Lexie is a vision of canine charm.

Though still a puppy, Lexie has already shown her intelligence and independence. She adores playtime with her dog besties, demonstrating her social nature with other dogs. She even likes visiting the cat neighbors every once in a while - if she's lucky they will play with her!

While Lexie hasn't had much exposure to children, her foster family believes she would thrive in a household with dog-savvy kids and even feline companions. However, her past experiences have made her somewhat wary of humans, requiring patience and understanding from her future adopters.

Despite her initial apprehension, Lexie has made strides in trusting humans, accepting treats and showing curiosity towards the world around her. Her foster family notes her keen sense of smell, particularly when food is involved.

Lexie's transition into her foster home wasn't without its challenges. Initially timid and seeking refuge with her sisters, she has gradually grown more comfortable, showcasing her playful side and love for crinkle toys and squeaky balls. She is quite the silly gal and loves a good cuddle.

Like any puppy, Lexie has her preferences and dislikes. She's not a fan of sudden movements or unfamiliar faces approaching her too quickly. However, with a confident canine companion by her side, Lexie's confidence in navigating the world continues to grow.

In terms of energy, Lexie embodies typical puppy exuberance. She delights in frolicking around the house and engaging in play sessions but is equally content to curl up for a nap after her adventures.

While Lexie currently resides in an apartment, her occasional barking and spirited antics might not make her the ideal neighbor for everyone. However, with proper training and guidance, she could adjust to shared living spaces.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
