Thank you!<br/><br/><br/>Are you looking for a social butterfly? A lover of children and all adults? Then look no further, Lexi is the dog you are looking for! Lexi is a 5 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix who just wants to be with you and follow you everywhere. She is a very adept kisser and cuddler. She is puppy-like in that she is very active and playful. Lexi loves to go on walks and greets other people and dogs like they are her long lost friend. When at home wants to be on top of you or touching you, and at night will sleep next to you in bed. Thank goodness she is only 11 pounds.<br/><br/><br/>Housetraining is still a work in progress, but she does know that outside is the correct place to go. Her foster mom is being consistent with taking her out on a regular, frequent schedule, which has been working well, and her adopters must continue to work with her so that she becomes reliably housetrained. This will require initially taking her out every few hours; any longer than that and she will have an accident in the house.<br/><br/><br/>Lexi is a happy, delightful little girl who will really will light up your life! These are the requirements for her ideal family:<br/><br/><br/>1. Have an active energy level to match Lexis. She needs to go on a brisk walk 2-3 times a day. She also needs lots of interactive playtime.<br/><br/>2. Commit to continue with her housetraining, which will require being able to take her out every few hours. The family must understand that Lexi can only accomplish this with their help.<br/><br/>3. Be home much of the day and include Lexi in your daily activities. This will keep any separation anxiety to a minimum.<br/><br/>4. If the home has children they need to be over the age of 10, and understand and demonstrate how to gently and respectfully interact with a small dog.<br/><br/>5. Live within 40 miles of Eden Prairie, MN<br/><br/>6. Attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.<br/><br/><br/>Lexi is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $370.00 plus $33.39 sales tax for a total of $403.39.<br/><br/><br/>To meet Lexi, please complete an adoption application using the website listed above. You can also meet Lexi and other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota at the rescues monthly Meet & Greet, held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at Chuck & Don's, 8537 Lyndale Avenue S.,<br/><br/>Bloomington, MN. Because of the Independence Day holiday, the July event will be held on July 11, with the regular first Saturday schedule resuming thereafter.
