Lexi's Story
** If you are interested in adopting Lexi please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **

Meet Lexi! Lexi is an adorable,3 year old, 16lb Chihuahua / Jack Russel mix... with maybe some Dachshund in the mix! Since we can't DNA test her, our breed guess is just that. What we do know for certain is that she is 100% lovable and sweet!

Lexi knows no stranger! She makes friends with every new person she meets, and is a very social girl! With her sweet personality, happy outlook, and affectionate nature, she has a way of instantly winning people over.

Lexi has lived comfortably around other dogs in her foster home, and is friendly with new dogs. Inside the home she can be a bit protective of valued items such as her toys, food, water bowls, and dog bed, but this is only with other dogs. She doesn't feel the need to protect her belongings from humans and will happily play tug-o-war with you. Because of this, Lexi does not require a dog companion and may be equally happy as an only dog in a home where she can enjoy all the attention to herself, but can still meet up with other dogs for playtime and socializing.

From Lexi's foster:
"She is doing great! No accidents in the house at all! Only doing her business outside.
Her behavior is really wonderful. She does like to put her paws up on my legs when she wants attention, but she's just such a lover.
She doesn't do anything destructive. She walks pretty well on leash and doesn't pull.
As you know, she's very sweet, affectionate, confident, and active. Really fun!"

Lexi is looking for a forever family that will welcome her as a true member of the household. She'd love a life filled with neighborhood walks, fun adventures, cozy snuggle sessions, and plenty of quality time with her people. Her small size makes her an easy companion to bring along, and her loving personality ensures she'll make every day a little brighter.

We're seeking a home that will provide Lexi with the physical exercise, mental enrichment, and affection she deserves. We strongly believe that positive reinforcement training helps dogs build confidence, strengthen their bond with their families, and develop lifelong good manners. Because of this, we're committed to placing Lexi with adopters who are willing to participate in a virtual or in-person force-free training class. Farfel's is happy to provide recommendations for excellent positive reinforcement trainers to help set both Lexi and her new family up for success.

Lexi is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.

Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year.

Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
