Lewis's Story
Meet Lewis! Lewis came to us as a stray and has quickly adjusted to his new foster home. This 1-year-old 13lbs Dachshund/Terrier mix is full of energy and personality! He loves being around people and other animals and is happiest when he's part of the action. Whether its a walk, a play session, or just hanging out with his people, he,s always ready to join in.

He is still a young dog who is learning his manners. He can get excited and may jump or bark when meeting other pets, but he settles down with a little time and would benefit from having another dog in the house. He also does well with confident cats after some time.

Lewis is still working on potty training, but he's making good progress. He can be a bit mouthy during play, so he would do best in a home without small children. An older child who wants a playful companion would likely be a great fit. He loves squeaky toys, chew toys, and just about any game you want to play with him.

At night, he sleeps well in his kennel, but he doesn't enjoy being left alone for long periods and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day.

He's pretty good on a leash and enjoys walks... at least until he decides he's done. He's a stubborn, funny boy with plenty of opinions, and when he doesn't want to do something, hell make that very clear. Hell benefit from continued training, but he's eager to be part of a family that will help him learn while appreciating all the joy and laughs he brings along the way.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***
