Leo's Story

🐾 About Leo:
Leo is 3 years old and 95lbs
He is an Irish Wolfhound mix
Leo is an energetic but calm and attentive boy in the home. He’s incredibly sensitive, affectionate, and loves being close to his people—he’ll happily follow you from room to room. He enjoys playtime but also settles nicely once things are calm.

🎓 Training Plan:
Leo will be going to a professional board and train program. We are seeking a foster placement AFTER he completes board and train to work on his manners and for him to thrive. An ideal foster would be one to continue his training plan from the board and train facility

⚠️ Important Needs:
• Adult-only or very controlled environment (no young children)
• Low-traffic home with minimal visitors
• Experienced handler preferred
• Can live with other dogs, but must be separated during feeding and high-value situations
*He does chase kitty friends and thinks its a game

Leo can become highly excited during transitions (going outside, mealtime, toys, people coming home), and he has a history of reacting when startled, overwhelmed, or when resources (like food or space) are involved.

🐾 Behavior Background:
Leo has had several near bite and bite incidents involving both dogs and people, typically tied to startle responses or resource guarding. He would do best in a calm, low-stimulation environment where he can feel safe and settled.

🐾 Other Notes:
• Fully housebroken
• Crate trained (used during transitions)
• Walks on leash with collar/harness
• Does not destroy household items
• Has shown curiosity toward small animals but requires supervision
