Lemon is estimated to be 1 year old and is 42 lbs.

Beautiful, sweet, petite Lemon has been in her foster home since 2/21/23 and enjoys tossing a tennis ball by herself or with other dogs. She excitedly waits for Milk Bones and has learned how to gently accept them. She lives in a foster home that includes her foster mom and dad, 5 dogs (males and females), and 2 cats. This playful and perfect sized young girl gets along great with all the other dogs in her foster home, but she also enjoys lounging on a soft bed with lots of bones and toys to chew.

Lemon was just a puppy when she was brought into Hall County Animal Control with her litter of puppies in December 2022. She recently weaned her puppies and found herself on the list of top nine most urgent dogs at the shelter. Thanks to the great social media posting by shelter volunteers, sweet Lemon was rescued by You Lucky Dog Rescue! She is not food aggressive and does not resource guard food or toys.

Lemon is learning house routines and is a natural with crate training! She is quiet when spending time in her crate, and also sleeps through the night. She has not had any accidents in her crate or in the house. She understands that she should go outside to do her business. Her adoptive family should be prepared to take her out on a reasonable schedule. Lemon stays in her crate when her foster family is out of the house.

Lemon knows the command “sit” and has been exploring her neighborhood on a leash. She has been on adventures to Tractor Supply, PetSmart, and Michael’s. She stays with her foster parents as they walk through the store, even if she is still a little unsure of these environments. She would love a fenced in yard to run around in free play since she is still a young adult with lots of energy.

Lemon has the softest fur and enjoys pets and lots of encouragement. She deserves a family who will give her the attention she longs for, as she learns what it is like to be in a loving home. While it will be difficult for her foster family to let her go, Lemon will bless the lucky family who adopts her!

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
