Lemon 's Story

Lemon has been in our training program since he was a puppy.

He needs a calm home that will give him freedom to make chooses but understands how to set boundaries where needed.

Cute as a button. Lemon is looking for a very special home that understands his behavioral and breed specific needs and is willing to tolerate his moodiness.

He was raised right as a puppy, has ample training already and is eager to keep learning.

Lemon is a ***resource guarder*** and likely suffers from some other genetic disorders related to fear/anxiety.

He is sensitive to being handled and restrained, especially by strangers, and can become aggressive. This sensitivity was likely caused by an unfortunate health events that lead to him requiring veterinary care at a sensitive stage in his puppy development.

His ideal home would be with someone who was capable grooming him at home so that he does not risk stressing out and potentially biting his groomer.

KAS grooms him without issue. He stands like an angel, no fighting, no growling, no biting, but that is not the experience that the traditional groomer had. Lucky for him KAS specializes in training so we taught him to enjoy the grooming experience but when he is taken to a new environment that confidence will likely evaporate.

Lemon continues to receive behavior modification for his aggression around handling and resource guarding. Behavior modification and training have already proven to be very effective for him and his behaviors continue to improve.

We are currently working on his resource guarding but his new family will need to understand the nature of this behavior problem to ensure Lemon's success. This is also why Lemon should not be in a home with children.

At KAS Lemon get's along with some other dogs just fine (of course being mindful of accessible resources). We believe that Lemon could live in a home with another dog without issue. He prefers other small dogs.

Lemon has met our resident horses and is totally infatuated and enjoys spending time with the horses.
He is neutral with chickens.
Curious about cats but could likely live in home with a dog savvy resident cat.

Lemon is in foster and not housed on sight. Please contact Kind Animal Services if you are interested in adopting Lemon.
