Lee's Story

Lee Siberian Husky 4.5 Years Old ~65 lbs

Lee is a striking red-and-white, blue-eyed Siberian Husky with a big personality and an adventurous spirit. After a rough start in a multi-dog home, he's learning what family life looks like and is thriving with structure and consistency.

Lee is affectionate, gently goofy, and very people-oriented. He loves being close to his humans and will happily keep you entertained. He is housebroken, though occasional accidents may happen as he continues to adjust after long periods of indoor confinement earlier in life.

This athletic boy has lots of energy and loves walks, running, and exploration. He is very strong, so he needs a handler who can manage his strength. Lee does well with respectful children (best with kids 10+) and other dogs, but no cats due to a strong prey drive.

Lee knows sit, down, wait, and paw and continues to work on leash manners. He loves toys (especially squeaky ones), duck jerky treats, and even shelled peanuts.

As a true Husky, Lee is intelligent, vocal, and an escape artist. He has cleared 5-6 ft fences and requires a secure yard with a tall, solid fence. When left alone, he needs a puppy-proofed home and a heavy-duty crate, as he can counter-surf and escape standard crates. He's improving and learning that his people always come back.

Lee will thrive with an active person or family experienced with Huskies. He is not suited for an elderly household. In the right home, Lee will be a loyal, fun, and loving companion.

All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. If you have other dogs in your home, we require that they meet our dog prior to adoption.
Adoption fee: $225
Once you apply, the foster will contact you to schedule a meet and greet.
Apply here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog
