Layla's Story

Layla was humanely trapped in Blue Island after being on the run for a little while. She is chipped but after numerous attempts to reach owners, no response. She has her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. Just under 70 lbs but is underweight. She is crate trained, house broken, and a very sweet girl. <br/><br/>WE NEED a foster, rescue or adopter for this girl ASAP. The kennels are stressing her out so bad. We are working on a dog test and she seems to be good with cats. Please reach out!

Blue Island Stray Dog Project's Adoption Policy

We have potential adopters fill out an application (linked on PetFinder or please email Blueislandstrays@gmail.com). Once we get a potential adopters application, we process background checks, vet checks, and reference checks. We like to speak and get to know the adopter to ensure a good fit and set up the adopter and the dog for success! Once approved for adoption, we like to conduct home visits when possible, and if a potential adopter has another dog in the house, we make it mandatory for dog meets with the other dog; sometimes, more than once.
