Layla was one of these dogs that was in dire need due to lack of space in a high-kill shelter and therefore facing the possibility of euthanasia. <br/><br/>This gorgeous girl deserves so much better. She deserves a wonderful home that is filled with pure love and nurturing. Layla's excellent temperament is a gift she'll bring with her to a dog-crazy family that is searching for that loyal best friend who will always be by their side.<br/><br/>Layla is a gorgeous 7 month old, 10 lb Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier mix that was saved from euthanasia due to her sweetness, love of life and very kind demeanor with both humans and other dogs. She is untested with cats. <br/><br/>Layla's breed mix was identified by Texas shelter veterinarians. This petite girl has been feeling scared and overwhelmed in the shelter, but beneath her nervousness, it's clear to us that this pup just needs a loving forever family with patience and love in their hearts. Our sweet Layla is simply a victim of circumstance but with a compassionate family that understands that acclimation takes time, she will absolutely shine. Layla just needs a safe place to decompress. Not for Layla to be unfriendly, every dog got a wag and a smile from our social girl.<br/><br/>Layla will be a champ in positive reinforcement obedience school. She's super-smart and developing (with the help of treats) a desire to please that's so important for training class. She's young, so some puppyish behavior should be expected. She's at a great age to begin her positive reinforcement training and general socialization to make her the great adult dog she's so capable of being.<br/><br/>Layla is a perfect size to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation with training and due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. <br/><br/>As Layla becomes more and more comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Layla will shine with her accomplishments.
