Lawrence's Story

Lawrence: The Heartworm Hero With BunnySoft Fur and a Heart Full of Sunshine

Location: Circleville, OH

Lawrence's story began in uncertainty — a young English Setter found as a stray, navigating the world alone far earlier than any pup should. But everything changed the day he got his freedom ride out of the shelter. Rescue stepped in, lifted him out of the unknown, and guided him through heartworm treatment with love, patience, and four months of crate rest. Today, Lawrence is a 11⁄2yearold heartworm survivor, bursting with joy, confidence, and the kind of gratitude only a oncelost pup can carry.

Activity Level: Freedom Looks GOOD on Him

With heartworm treatment behind him, Lawrence is living like a dog who just discovered the meaning of happiness. His energy level? THROUGH. THE. ROOF. Zoomies on top of zoomies, with a huge smile plastered across his face. Outside, he runs like he's making up for lost time — because he is.

Inside, he's a snuggly, affectionate sweetheart who loves curling up with his humans and soaking in all the love he missed early in life.

Social Skills: A Happy Boy With a Big Heart

Lawrence is a happy, charming, peopleloving boy.

Great with kids

Great with adults

A total charmer at the vet's office

Loves playing with other dogs and being part of the pack

Hasn't met cats yet

A little skittish with new noises, but improving every day

He travels well in the car and is learning that new doorways and unfamiliar spaces aren't scary when his humans are with him.

Fence Requirement

Lawrence currently does well with his foster's 5ft paddock fence (wood + wire). With time and confidence, he may be a good candidate for an efence, but he's not ready for that just yet.

Training & Commands

Lawrence is a smart boy with a big desire to please. He already responds to:

“Come”

“No”

He learns quickly and will blossom with gentle guidance and consistency.

Crate Training

Yes! Lawrence is very good in his crate. It helped him through treatment, and now it's a familiar, comforting space.

Leash Training

He does well on leash... unless a nutty squirrel appears. Then all bets are off. (He's working on it.)

Medical History

HEARTWORM SURVIVOR!!!! Lawrence has successfully completed heartworm treatment and is feeling fantastic.

Vaccines: Up to date

Neutered: Yes

Preventatives: Heartgard Plus & NexGard

Funniest Lawrence Moment

Lawrence LOVES to be loved. He'll walk right up to you, pause, tilt his head, and give you a look that clearly says: “Excuse me... pet me.” If you stop? He'll ask again. And again. And again. He is the sweetest, most innocent loveseeker you'll ever meet.

Extra Lawrence Magic

His fur is extrasoft — bunny soft

He loves rolling in the grass

He sunbathes like it's his fulltime job

He is always happy

Ideal Home

Lawrence will thrive with a family who understands his past, celebrates his present, and guides him gently into his future. He's eager to learn, eager to love, and eager to live the joyful life he deserves.

If you're looking for a dog who survived the hard parts and now wants nothing more than to love, learn, and zoom his way into your heart, Lawrence is your boy.

If you have any questions, just ask- we are happy to help. oesrinfo@gmail.com We do not have a physical shelter, we operate solely out of foster homes, which we are always in short supply! If you are interested in fostering for us, please go to our website and fill out a foster application. It takes but a moment, but you will be surprised at how amazing it is to open your home to a dog in need. The dogs really bloom in foster care, and nothing compares to taking in an unwanted dog and seeing him/her end up with the perfect forever.
