Larry's Story
Meet Larry!

Larry is a 2-year-old, 25-lb mixed breed who is equal parts gentle observer and playful pup.

He's a shy boy who is still learning that the world can be safe, but once he feels comfortable, his rambunctious personality starts to shine through!

He'll happily follow you from room to room, gets along great with other dogs and loves running around the fenced-in yard getting his paws dirty. Right now, Larry is still getting used to human touch. He allows gentle petting during calm moments or when he's settled in bed, but it's not something he actively seeks out just yet. He shows his affection in other ways like choosing to stay close, sleeping in bed with his people, and quietly keeping you company throughout the day.

He is potty trained and does well with routine. He's still working on leash training and getting comfortable with wearing a collar, and will need a patient adopter who's willing to continue helping him build confidence at his own pace.

Larry's hobbies include: Playing with other dogs, chewing on branches, digging impressive holes in the yard, eating scrambled eggs, and stretching out on a big cozy human bed.

He's looking for a calm, patient home that will give him the time and space he needs to continue to grow. With the right environment (especially one with another dog) he has so much potential to grow into an incredibly loyal companion.

Larry is currently being fostered in West New York, NJ. His adoption fee is $475.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
