Lana's Story

Some dogs make a grand entrance. Lana quietly sneaks into your heart.

Lana is a 3-year-old Sheepadoodle with a sweet, gentle nature and just the right balance of affection and playfulness. She enjoys spending time with her people, happily accepts belly rubs, and has a way of making herself right at home with those she trusts.

Lana gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions around, but she is just as happy soaking up attention from her humans. She has a moderate energy level and enjoys daily activity without needing to be constantly on the go.

Like many dogs experiencing big life changes, Lana may need some continued consistency with house-training routines and structure as she settles into a new home. She has also shown that she may need a patient reintroduction to crate training, or a dog proof room when left unsupervised. At this time, she's making great strides towards learning with the guidance of her foster family so we expect her to continue to improve.

One of the most important things to know about Lana is that she is a flight risk. She will require a securely fenced yard and careful management when doors and gates are open. Because of this, we are looking for a family that understands the importance of safety and supervision. Once she bonds to her new people and environment, we expect this risk to resolve.

As a Sheepadoodle, Lana will also require regular grooming every 6 weeks to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. This is a must!

Lana isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for patience, understanding, and a family willing to help her continue adjusting to a new chapter. In return, she'll offer loyalty, companionship, and plenty of sweet moments that make all the effort worthwhile.

Sweet. Eager to love. Ready for a fresh start.

Lana is waiting to meet her family.

------------------------------------
The adoption donation for Lana is $250.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate).

If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Youngstown/Mahoning County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter.

Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. If you live in a residence with a Homeowners Association (HOA) please make sure you check that the dog you are interested in does not violate size or breed restrictions. A successful adoption is our goal. Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption of any dog.
We require you call your established veterinarian asap to schedule a wellness visit.

-

Our applications can be found by clicking on the adoption application link at https://apaprescue.com

Our primary form of communication is email. Please check your spam/junk folder so you dont miss any emails!

**IMPORTANT **

Please note that when you use the start an inquiry/introduce yourself feature it is NOT an application to adopt. Dont waste your time clicking on it!

Adoption donation policy effective 1/1/23:

Under a year - $350 cash/check/givebutter $360 PayPal/Venmo
Adult (1-9) - $250 cash/check/givebutter $260 PayPal/Venmo
Senior (10+) - $200 cash/check/givebutter $210 PayPal/Venmo

We apologize for the inconvenience of a service fee if you are using PayPal or Venmo. Each year we lose hundreds of dollars for their service fees, and their fees continue to rise. Every dollar matters and those lost dollars means less dogs we can fund and help. We are a 100% volunteer group that utilizes foster homes. We do not have a shelter/building. Thank you for understanding.
