Lainey's Story

🐾 Meet Lainey 🐾

Lainey is a sweet Miniature Dachshund estimated to be around 9 years old and weighing about 9 pounds. She came to us from a backyard breeder seizure case where 74 dogs were rescued and is now ready to enjoy the comfort and love of a real home.

Among the dachshunds rescued, Lainey is the most outgoing. While she can still be a little shy at first due to her lack of early socialization, she warms up faster than many of the others and enjoys gentle attention once she feels safe.
Lainey previously lived with many other dogs and gets along well with other dogs. She has not yet been tested with cats. Because she can be nervous in new environments, we require that she go to a home with children 12 years or older to ensure interactions remain calm and respectful while she adjusts.

Lainey is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

When she arrived at the rescue, she tested positive for hookworms, whipworms, and giardia. She has completed two rounds of treatment with Drontal and Panacur, and our veterinarian recommends a third treatment in June 2026 to ensure the parasites are fully cleared. We will provide this medication to her adopter.

Lainey would thrive in a calm home with patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to settle in and enjoy her well-deserved second chance.

🐾 Adoption Application (first step
in our process):
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPAW/Dog
📧 Questions?
