Hi, Im Laika! <br/><br/>I was named after Laika, the famous space dog, and we actually have a little more in common than just our name. She started her story as a stray on the streets of Moscow before becoming the first dog to orbit Earth. Sadly, she never got the chance to come home. <br/><br/>I was a stray too, but this Laika gets a different ending. I got my second chance, and now Im just waiting for someone to give me the one thing every dog deserves.<br/><br/>A home. <br/><br/>And when I find mine, I can promise you Im not going ANYWHERE. <br/><br/>Im pretty sure Im the biggest lapdog youll ever meet. I have absolutely no concept of personal space, and if I could crawl into your skin just to be a little closer to you, I probably would. Maybe Ill gain some spatial awareness as I get older, but no promises. <br/><br/>Im a very gentle, loving, and loyal girl. If youre looking for a constant companion, Im your girl. Wherever you are, thats where I want to be. <br/><br/>Im playful and adventurous and always ready to have some fun, but I also know when its time to settle down and relax. Once Ive gotten my fun in, Im perfectly happy just hanging out with my people.<br/><br/>I really like other dogs, and I think Id do great in a home with canine siblings and kids. I dont have an aggressive bone in my body, and I rarely bark. Im just a happy girl who loves everyone. <br/><br/>Im fully potty trained and mostly kennel trained. I understand the whole kennel thing, but do I love it? Absolutely not. Ill go in there when I need to, but Id much rather be out with you.<br/><br/>I LOVE treats, although Im not always the best about finishing all of my actual food. Apparently, treats do not count as a balanced diet. <br/><br/>There is one thing you should probably know about me though.<br/><br/>Trash. <br/><br/>If you leave it somewhere I can get to it, Im going to investigate it. And by investigate, I mean I will absolutely get into it. So keep those trash cans closed unless you want me conducting a very thorough inspection. <br/><br/>Most of all, Im just a genuinely happy girl. I wake up happy, I spend my day happy, and I go to bed happy. I love being with my people, going on adventures, playing, snuggling, and being included in whatever youre doing.<br/><br/>The first Laika made history among the stars. This Laika doesnt need to go to space.<br/><br/>I just need someone to take me home.
