Lady's Story

Meet Lady, a 3-year-old, 25-pound tricolor Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as big as her personality. She's on the smaller side for her breed, making her a great size for many homes while still having the intelligence and loyalty that Australian Cattle Dogs are known for.

She absolutely loves people and thrives on human companionship. Sweet, affectionate, and surprisingly quiet, Lady, enjoys being close to her family, whether that's relaxing at home, going for walks, or joining you on everyday adventures. She has a gentle nature with people and is always happy to make new human friends.

When it comes to other dogs, Lady can be selective. She doesn't always feel comfortable meeting unfamiliar dogs and may need time and careful introductions before accepting them. Because of this, she would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention without the stress of sharing her space.

Her ideal family will appreciate her loyal, people-oriented personality and provide her with consistent guidance, mental enrichment, and daily exercise. In return, she'll be a devoted companion who forms a strong bond with her people.

If you're looking for a smart, loving, and loyal best friend who prefers human company over a busy canine social life, [Dog's Name] may be the perfect match for you.

Four Feet & a Heart Beat's Adoption Policy
At Four Feet and a Heartbeat, our goal is to ensure every dog is placed in a safe, loving, and well-matched home. As a no-kill dog rescue based in Lacombe, Alberta and serving Western Canada, we take responsible placement seriously—without making the process overly complicated. Before reaching out, please review the following policies: - Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. - We adopt primarily to Alberta and neighboring provinces, though out-of-province adoptions may be possible if transportation is arranged and paid for by the adopter. - A pet-safe home is required. Some dogs may need 6-foot fencing based on observed behavior (e.g. climbing, prey drive, etc). - Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated (5-way, Rabies, and Kennel Cough). - We do not adopt dogs for breeding, resale, or as gifts. - Adoption fees vary by dog and help cover food, shelter medical care and ongoing support. We rely on self-selection to help identify the right matches and ask that prospective adopters review the adoption agreement and dog bios before contacting us.
