Laci - needs Heeler exp. home Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Mix Stanton, KY

Laci is a sweetheart. She is 6 yrs old and about 38 lbs in size. She has a typical heeler nature which includes being a good protector and worker. Heelers like having a job and Laci is loyal to her family to not only love but, somewhat guard them against strange things or people.

We know a bit about her background and she has lived both inside and out. She is housebroken and lived in different family situations in her past. We are looking for a home where she can get daily exercise off leash. Being totally an inside dog (like apartment or condo type home) tends to make her over protective of her family and she doesn't take well to strangers or strange dogs approaching as a result. We feel she is ideally suited to a home outside a city where traffic and unfamilar folks are not a common occurrence. Having a fenced yard should eliminate her tendency to guard the family.

As you can see by her photos she has a kind heart. Laci simply needs a little compassion and loving heart. She is slightly nervous & timid but loves like crazy when she gains your understanding. We are very fond of her!

She is fully vetted, microchipped, been heartworm treated and requires heartguard protection monthly which is not expensive.
She near and dear to our hearts.

Other dogs can be an issue with Laci if they are not well behaved. She walks well on a leash with other dogs. Once she is familiar with people or dogs she does very well.

We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help.
ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $85-$125. Cats $60-$80. (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.)

The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Saturday hours are by appt.

After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and an approved application. We want to accommodate!
