Kudzu 14085's Story
Kudzu is a sweet senior chihuahua whose plethora of personality is downright infectious! Although he enjoys a good cuddle as much as the next dog, Kudzu came to Muttville to personally make friends with each and every canine companion he comes across. There's no time to stop and snuggle when you are playing with your buddies, and Kudzu is a black fuzzy blur as he cavorts around the courtyard. Because of this, Kudzu may make a good sibling if you already have a pup of your own, but he'd also probably enjoy being the center of attention with occasional trips to the dog park. If you're ready to meet the mutt equivalent of Mr. Congeniality, come spend some time with Kudzu today!

Here's some notes from his foster:

Meet Kudzu - this distinguished eight-year-old Chihuahua is a true gentleman: calm, affectionate, and endlessly curious about the world, one sniff at a time.

Kudzu's perfect day starts with a good morning walk. Don't be fooled by his nine pounds: this little guy sets a pace! On a good day he will break into a full sprint down the pavement, and you will be jogging to keep up. He is potty trained and reliable; communicating clearly when he needs to go out, and has a few tells for when he is about to go. He has great manners with other dogs and he greets new people with curiosity rather than anxiety.

Back home, Kudzu has a self-devised obstacle course: sofa, box, ottoman, bed, leaping from one to the next. He likes cold butternut squash straight from the fridge (he's very food-motivated!) and classical music at bedtime. He happily naps mid-belly-scratch, and gently pushes your hand away with his paw when he has had enough (very adorable!).

Kudzu is still building confidence around sudden loud noises, but he recovers quickly with a little reassurance and you being nearby. He's also been okay with being alone for around 3 hours, and does best with a good walk beforehand and something delicious to focus on. He also loves to greet you on your return with a kiss. He is very quiet (only barked twice in a week), but his expressive eyes tell you everything you need to know!

Kudzu would thrive with someone that can be a patient and steady presence and who appreciates a small dog with a charming personality. In return, he will be a fantastic companion beside you on the sofa every evening, warm against your leg, snoring gently to the TV or radio.
