Kronk's Story

Kronk — Big Head, Easy Heart, Certified Goofball

There is no other way to say this: Kronk is a doofus, and he is absolutely magnificent because of it. He is goofy, he is loving, he is fully convinced he is a large cat, and he will attempt to sit on you with zero warning and zero apology. He is also one of the easiest, most genuinely enjoyable dogs we have had the pleasure of knowing, and whoever gets him is going to feel like they won something — because they did.

Here is what makes Kronk so special: he has figured out the perfect balance between independent and affectionate, and he did it entirely on his own terms. During the day he is perfectly content doing his own thing, puttering around, living his big-headed little life. And then he will wander over, make eye contact, lean into you like you hung the moon, and wander back off again. It is the canine equivalent of a love note slipped under the door. Respectful. Intentional. Completely disarming.

When he does decide it is cuddle time, personal space becomes a concept that no longer applies. If he fits, he sits — and he will absolutely try to fit. On the couch, on your lap, in your general vicinity at all times. He is not pushy about it, he is just deeply, sincerely convinced that being near his people is where he belongs. Honestly, he is not wrong.

Kronk is potty trained, crate trained, and knows sit and stay. He is actively working on his leash manners and picking up new commands, which means whoever adopts him gets the fun of watching him grow into himself even more. He is cat friendly — genuinely, not just tolerant — and has lived happily alongside feline roommates. Other dogs are not really his thing, so he would do best as your one and only, which honestly suits him just fine. He has never needed a crowd. Just his people.

Kronk does not ask for much. A home where he is loved, a couch he can attempt to fold himself onto, and people who find his particular brand of lovable weirdness as charming as we do. Give him that and he will give you everything he has got, one lazy, goofy, big-headed day at a time.
Trust us on this one. Whoever gets Kronk wins.

Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.

APPLY on our WEBSITE:
Rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt
Rebeldogsdetroit.com/becomeafoster
