Meet Kovu

Meet Kovu! Born 11/9/2012, Kovu is a gorgeous, sweet gentle giant weighing in at 82 pounds. He was surrendered to Chicago Animal Control when his owner could no longer care for him due to a condition called perianal fistulas, common in German Shepherd Dogs. With a good diet and medication, Kovu’s fistulas are well managed. He would benefit from a home where someone is home often to give him his daily meds. Kovu is currently fostered with a female GSD and lived previously with cats. Kovu especially likes to make friends with tiny dogs. As any typical GSD, Kovu gets attached to his humans. He loves to cuddle, walks well on leash, rides great in the car and has excellent house manners. Kovu is an all around fabulous boy that will make a lovely companion to a special home.

If interested in adopting Kovu, the first step is to complete an adoption application at www.gsrescue1.org

Please note we will not answer inquiries without an application on file and we only adopt local to Chicago.
