Kona's Story

Meet Kona!

Kona is a sweet, sensitive mixed-breed looking for a patient, experienced person/s who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and loved. Originally rescued as a young puppy from Mexico, Kona is naturally cautious around new people and unfamiliar situations, and she thrives when she's allowed to move at her own pace.

She takes time to build trust with new people and will need slow, positive introductions. Loud noises, unfamiliar environments, quick movements, and meeting strangers can all be overwhelming for Kona. However, beneath her timid exterior is a playful, affectionate dog just waiting to let her personality shine. Once you've earned her trust, Kona is incredibly loyal and forms a deep bond with her people.

When she's comfortable, Kona loves splashing in creeks, swimming, chasing sticks, enjoying her morning zoomies in the yard, and soaking up the sunshine during a relaxing afternoon.

Kona is looking for a quiet, predictable home with experienced adopters who understand that trust cannot be rushed. A home with minimal visitors would be ideal, as frequent new people can be stressful for her. She is not suitable for a home with young children.

Multiple meet-and-greets are required before Kona can go home with her new family-no exceptions. She needs the opportunity to build a relationship with her adopters before making such a big transition. This extra time helps set Kona up for success and gives her the best chance to thrive in her new home.

Kona can be selective with other dogs but may do well with the right canine companion following slow, thoughtful introductions. Any resident dogs will need to be introduced carefully to ensure a good match.

Kona may not be the dog who greets you with instant enthusiasm, but for someone willing to invest the time and patience she deserves, the reward is immeasurable. If you're looking for a deeply loyal companion and understand that the best relationships are built on trust, Kona could be your perfect match.

Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!
1.
