Kona's Story
Name: Kona
Breed: Catahoula Mix
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 10 years
Weight: 49 lbs
Animal Number: 4463

Sweet, Friendly, Playful, Loves People

Good with dogs? Kona used to live with a sibling dog, but since being in her foster home shes shown that shes not a big fan of most other dogs. Its possible that after a patient proper intro she could get along with an easygoing, friendly dog that gives her space and respects her boundaries, but not for sure! She does pull or bark on leash and can become very focused and reactive with other dogs on walks, but she and her foster mom are learning techniques to work through those big feelings about other dogs and walk peacefully.

Good with cats? Yes, she has lived with cats before and is friendly with the two cats in her foster home, but does set her boundaries. Shes a bit jealous when other animals get attention, since she loves to soak up love.

Good with kids? Yes, she is gentle with the 7 year old boy in her foster home, and likes to play with him in the yard.

Energy level: Medium to Low at home when shes relaxing. High when shes out on walks! Kona is very strong and athletic. She has recently begun showing interest in squeaky toys and when cats in her home get the zoomies she wants to join in and play, but is also respectful when given boundaries. She also loves playing in water and when she hears the outdoor faucet turn on she is ready to play!

Animal Characteristics: Kona is a sweet, friendly, playful girl who wants to be by your side, whether youre out on a walk together or chilling at home. Shes very calm and relaxed indoors, will follow you around your house, and will roll on her back when she wants to play! She is curious when she sees new people and likes meeting new friends. She is sometimes reactive when she sees certain new dogs and is working on her dog meet and greet training.

Kona knows basic commands, is fully potty trained, is peaceful at home and does not need a crate, and absolutely loves riding in cars! She takes a basic joint supplement since she loves to stay on the move. Kona would do best with an active, experienced adopter who will take the time to continue her training so that feels comfortable around other dogs in various settings. This beautiful girl lost her home due to no fault of her own and is ready for her loving forever person or family!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process.
