Koko 14289's Story

Gentle giant Koko is perfect for a family looking for a large dog! A chocolate cutie, Koko could not be happier to find herself at Muttville - her tail has not stopped wagging and Koko eagerly greets each new canine and human that crosses her path with lots of enthusiasm. You'd think it would be hard for a senior to maintain that energy, but age is nothing but a number for Koko - she has so much love and positivity that it overflows from her in excess tail wags. Koko may never learn sign language, but she does know how to sit, and she has a way of making her feelings known. Do you have a Koko shaped hole in your house?

Here's some notes from her foster:

Koko is a very loving girl. She settled pretty quickly and her personality really has started to shine after a week. She loves the couch. Not so much the dog bed but she'll lay there if required. She's a typical lab and is very aware of breakfast and dinner time. She does get distracted when walking - all the people and dogs to see and check out! So she does pull a bit. After 5-10 minutes she seems to calm down a bit and darts around less.

On one of our walks we came across a family of 5 with young children. And she was so calm and cute and with them. I think she enjoys the energy they bring.

She loves cuddles. She just wants to melt into you. She'll squirm and try as hard as she can. And then sometimes flop for a belly rub.

I've only heard her bark a few times and it's when I'm leaving and she's letting me know she's not impressed. It's one bark and maybe two and then quiet. She's never barked at the door when someone comes.

Though long as walks aren't great for her she loves to throw a stuffy toy around for herself and she's just started to play tug of war with me. She gets these bursts of energy and then you'll hear some loud snoring! It's adorable.
